Boom-sha-clack-clack

I've been a bit obsessed with this song recently, which is fine because it makes me quite happy.
Which brings me to the topic of this post.

H A P P I N E S S

Or more specifically, what causes my happiness.
When you realize that there's something wrong in your life, it's always painful...yet oh so necessary.

People can be chameleons. Some pick up people's laughs, or accents. Others start making jokes like those people or even change their standards around certain people. Being a chameleon isn't necessarily bad, it just has to be for the right motives. Once in a while if I hang around a person a lot, I'll pick up their laugh. This can be annoying, but it's not bad.

It becomes a problem when you're changing yourself to be more like that person in hopes that they'll be your friend or some such nonsense. I learned quickly (and painfully) in high school that I shouldn't change myself in order to fit into the group of people that I thought I needed as friends.

But, I realized that I have a more serious changeling problem. My attitude and mood. Especially when it concerns negativity and criticism.

This self discovery kind of shocked me. Because, if you know me, you know that I'm NOT the most sensitive person in the world. In fact, unless you have a justifiable, logical problem...I will most likely NOT care and tell you to get over yourself. (which, is another thing I need to work on..haha)

Friends....are very important to me. Luckily, I have some of the most AMAZING friends in the whole wide world. (you know who you are ) But friends have a big sway on my mood. If the people I care about most are unhappy, then I am. Of course, this isn't entirely a bad thing. But, I'm just aware that it can affect me TOO much. Like I said before, if they're particularly negative or critical, then I'm like that too. (and my sarcastic, realist attitudes kick in too and just blows it all out of proportion. lol)

I'm an extrovert, so I naturally am energized by people...and tend to get deflated when I'm not around friends.

Alright, this post isn't making quite as much sense as I had originally intended. Neither is it going in the direction I intended either. But that's okay.

If you don't read the rest of this post, READ THIS. (please)
My conclusion to all of the lengthy and wordy above, is that I don't find my happiness in Christ.

Isaiah 58:14 says to "find your joy in the LORD." Nehemiah 8:10 says "do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength"
It is my never ending prayer to more fully rely on Christ, for both myself and for you my dear (few) readers.

plague and remake

Sunday: up all night because of a dull pain in my abdomen
Monday: rushed to the doctors then the emergency room because the pain became unbearable.
Tuesday: home all day with pneumonia, on bedrest orders from doctor.
Wednesday: ^repeat
Thursday:^repeat
Friday:^repeat
Saturday:^repeat

My food has mosty been jello, pudding, and the occasional salad.

My days have been filled with sleep, movies and the above mentioned jello and pudding.

I news printed my nails! I had really wanted to use comic books but they don't work.

This is two of my four needle entries on my left arm. I was stabbed....a lot. *sigh*

I took up knitted again and had an Indiana Jones marathon.

part two of my marathon, not my favorite of the trilogy (yes, I call Indiana Jones a trilogy, there are only THREE movies *cough*)

I've had SO much tea that it probably has replaced blood in my veins.

I took a break from Indy but I couldn't give up Harrison Ford so I watched Sabrina.

Lastly but certainly not least, I've spent some much needed time in the Word. :)

Also! Blog redesign!  I'm desprately hoping that the re-design will inspire me to write here more.
(who am I kidding, probably not...but...it's worth a shot!!)

hullo

“You can't stay in your corner of the Forest waiting for others to come to you. You have to go to them sometimes.” -Winnie The Pooh

First, I'm going to make an effort to blog more, specifically about every little thing that happens to me like some people do. ;)

Secondly, school is nearly done! I'm so very excited. Not that I'll get *any* less busy, but...it will be nice to officially be on "summer break".

Thirdly, my brain is a little fried after sorting nearly 2000 pictures. (and editing about 200 of them) I'm loving my internship though...really. ;P They fed me and that's always awesome.

Fourthly, you know that itching you get when you're slightly sunburned? Well, I've got that. It's annoying, but also exciting because it means that I'm tanning. :)

Fifthly, is it grammatically correct to say that you're "itching" something? Or is it just "scratching". I tend to lean towards saying "scratching", and it bugs me to hear somebody say "stop itching it". It's a bit of a pet peeve of mine.

Sixthly, I'm such a type A personality that I'm utterly loving that this blog post is organized and numbered.

Seventhly, I don't think seventhly is a word. I believe it would be sevenfold? Or...what does sevenfold even mean?
1. equal to or having seven times as many or as much. 2. composed of seven parts. (Thank you Google)

Eightfold, perhaps I should tie the introduction quote into my whole post.
Sometimes it's just so easy to stay in your corner and just wait for "God's will" to happen and not take action.  I have nothing deep or insightful to say about this beyond that God doesn't want you to do that. Oftentimes us taking initiative is how God brings about opportunity.
Disappointments in life will come, but...God knows oh so best for your life.

doors

As cliche as the phrase "when one door closes another door opens" is, it's incredibly true.
As disappointing as it is when doors close, if they didn't close, then other doors wouldn't be opened. :) yup.

I really don't have much time to devote to this, since my to-do list is...HUGE.
Not even kidding.

But, since I've written so many lists recently...I'll just continue the trend.

  • TeenPact National Convention is in 2 days, and I'm beyond excited for it.
  • finals are the first week of June.
  • I'm shooting a wedding in July!
  • big thing : two month intensive internship with a fabulous local wedding photographer. everything from photography, graphic design, advertising, organization and administration. such a great experience opportunity.
        • BIGGER THING: ---drumroll please--
For the next 2-3 weeks I'm a graphic design intern for independant film, designing books, labels and such.
          But...wait for it......
Producer/director and star of the film is non other than Josh Radnor, aka....Ted Mosby from How I Met Your Mother.
EEEEEEEEEEKKK!!!!!!!! <This has been me, for the past two days.

Alrighty, I need to go and start organizing and packing for National Convention. :)
